Jiexin Liu is a Health Scientist Administrator (HSA)/Program Director (PD) in the Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). In this role, Dr. Liu works closely with other CRCHD Program Directors and leadership to identify performance measures, design data collection instruments, and conduct analyses to evaluate the impact of CRCHD-funded programs aimed at reducing cancer health disparities and increasing biomedical workforce diversity. In addition, Dr. Liu oversees selected CRCHD-funded diversity training and cancer research awards, providing scientific, technical, and administrative guidance to applicants and recipients. Prior to his appointment as an HSA/PD, Dr. Liu joined CRCHD's Performance and Evaluation Core in 2011 as a biostatistician and program evaluation researcher.

Dr. Liu's work over the past 20 years has spanned pharmacy and financial analysis to research, teaching, and grant review in areas such as health policy, clinical, epidemiological, and population-based studies. He has worked at various academic and healthcare institutions, as well as government agencies, including the University of Minnesota, West Virginia University, University of Maryland, University of Chicago, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Phoenix Children's Hospital, and the Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr. Liu received his Ph.D. in Health Services Research, Policy, and Administration from the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health. He also earned his M.S. in Chemistry and M.B.A. from the University of Minnesota. Prior to that, Dr. Liu completed his B.S. in Pharmacy from the Shenyang College of Pharmacy in China.
