Dr. Edward E. Partridge is Professor and Vice Chairman in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology, at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He also serves as Associate Director for Cancer Prevention and Control and Leader of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program in the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Dr. Partridge received his M.D. from UAB and is certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology. He serves as PI for the Deep South Network for Cancer Control, one of the large Special Populations Networks funded by the NCI. This project trains community men and women as Community Health Advisors and Research Partners in an effort to increase cancer awareness in the African-American communities of Alabama and Mississippi and to promote community-based cancer control research and clinical trials.
Dr. Partridge is also PI of the Morehouse School of Medicine/UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center Partnership and the UAB SPORE in Ovarian Cancer. He is on the Board of Directors of the Mid-South Division of the American Cancer Society and serves as the Board's leader for the Division's Cancer Control Plan.
