Brenda Adjei, M.P.A., Ed.D., is a Program Director in the Integrated Networks Program, Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI). In this role, Dr. Adjei serves as a Disparities Lead of the NCI Community Cancer Centers Program (NCCCP) providing technical expertise and guiding programmatic efforts to plan and develop research initiatives that address health care disparities and the health care needs of the underserved. Her responsibilities also include co-managing the National Outreach Network.
Prior to her appointment at CRCHD, Dr. Adjei was the Associate Director of Research and Administration at Long Island University's Intercultural Institute on Human Development and Aging in Brooklyn, NY and Program Administrator for the LIU/Columbia University CRCHD-funded Comprehensive Partnership to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities. In this capacity, she managed and had research, administrative, outreach and training responsibilities. Dr. Adjei's research interests include behavioral oncology, community-based participatory research, as well as the evaluation, dissemination, and implementation of effective cancer prevention, control, education and outreach interventions across diverse populations and settings.
Dr. Adjei received a B.S. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, an M.P.A. from New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, and an Ed.D. in health education research from Teachers College, Columbia University.
