LeeAnn Bailey, Ph.D., is a Program Director at the Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities of the National Cancer Institute. In this role, Dr. Bailey manages the Career Development portfolio and has assumed the lead for developing a training program in emerging technologies for underserved investigators at all stages of the pipeline. She works to fulfill the Center’s initiatives to train the next generation of cancer health disparities investigators and to increase diversity within this cadre.

Prior to her appointment at NCI, Dr. Bailey was a Project Leader at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory where she developed novel tissue engineering platforms and developed cellular response biomarkers.

Dr. Bailey received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from the University of Virginia. She is the author or co-author of over 30 technical publications and reviews. In addition, she has extensive experience in training, program development and significant clinical expertise.
