Dr. Richard G. Roetzheim is Professor of Family Medicine and Director of Research for the University of South Florida Department of Family Medicine. He is also a staff member of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.
Dr. Roetzheim is a health services researcher who has special interest in primary care as it impacts cancer outcomes, as well as an associated interest in health disparities. Dr. Roetzheim has conducted a number of studies documenting racial and socioeconomic disparities in cancer care and outcomes in the state of Florida. Dr. Roetzheim has also conducted studies assessing the effect of primary medical care on cancer outcomes and has examined cancer screening among disadvantaged populations. He has also conducted NCI-funded studies to improve cancer screening in primary care settings serving disadvantaged populations.
Dr. Roetzheim received his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his degree in public health from University of California, Los Angeles.
