- SPN CANCER Supplement
Recently released CANCER Supplement, sponsored by CRCHD, highlights the activities and accomplishments
of the Special Populations Networks (SPN) program. SPN was a five-year, nationwide NCI-funded project
to reduce cancer health disparities in minority and underserved populations.
- Enhancing Interactions to Reduce Cancer
Health Disparities: An NCI-wide Workshop
Summarizes proceedings from a two-day NCI workshop held on the NIH campus in November 2005 to enhance
capacity to reduce cancer health disparities. Workshop convened representatives from across the Institute
to take stock of the health disparities programs, studies, and initiatives currently being implemented
by NCI; encourage trans-institute collaborations; and propose overarching objectives and action plans
for reducing cancer health disparities.
- Excess Cervical Cancer Mortality
Compilation of recommendations from the more than 180 multidisciplinary experts who participated in the
Cervical Cancer Mortality Project convened by NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities. These
recommendations explore the components of the cervical cancer problem, identify critical needs, and suggest

The Yakama Nation and Pacific Northwest Tribes President's Cancer Panel Annual Report 2002
The report cites studies showing during the past 30 years Native American cancer incidence and mortality
rates have been increasing, and that American Indian and Alaskan Native cancer survival rates are the

Summarizes the results of the town meetings held throughout the United States during 2000 to learn
about cancer care problems faced by cancer patients. Presents the President's Cancer Panel's recommendations

useful in furthering understanding of the relationship of socioeconomic status to the overall cancer
