Ongoing Research
Community Networks Program (CNP)
The Community Networks Program aims to reduce and eliminate cancer disparities through community-based research, education, and training. Its goal is to significantly improve access to and use of beneficial cancer interventions in communities experiencing disparities. To achieve this goal, CNP is working closely with multiple community agencies and organizations to develop and implement effective ways to reduce cancer health disparities.
Minority Institution/Cancer Center Partnership (MI/CCP)
The purpose of the Minority Institution/Cancer Center Partnership (MI/CCP) is to enable minority-serving institutions (MSIs) and NCI Cancer Centers (CCs) to train scientists from diverse backgrounds in cancer research and effectively deliver cancer advances to racially and ethnically diverse communities.
Patient Navigation Research Program (PNRP)
The Patient Navigation Research Program aims to tackle the problem of health disparities through a multi-site institution approach. PNRP's overall aim is to decrease the time between cancer-related abnormal findings, definitive diagnosis, and delivery of quality standard cancer care. To achieve this goal the CRCHD charged nine academic research institutions with developing innovative patient navigator interventions to reduce or eliminate cancer health disparities and test their efficacy and cost effectiveness.
