Marian Manciu, Ph.D.

Dr. Marian Manciu specializes in theoretical modeling of macromolecular interactions in biological systems (grafted polymer brushes, lipid bilayers, proteins, hydration interactions, specific ion effects). In 2004, he became an Assistant Professor in the Physics Department of the University of Texas at El Paso. Dr. Manciu has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles.
Since 2006, Dr. Manciu has been the PI (of the Minority Institution) of the UT El Paso- UT HSC San Antonio PRCHD Partnership, "Increasing Minority Representation in Radiation Oncology." The main goal of this PRCHD partnership is to enhance the participation of Hispanics in cancer research, by creating a pipeline through which the underrepresented minority students from the El Paso region enter the Ph.D. program in the Radiation Oncology Department at the UT HSC San Antonio.
Dr. Manciu received a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from SUNY Buffalo.
