Dr. Richardson is a Professor of Biology and the Director of Cancer Research Program, JLC-BBRI at North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. He served on the faculty of Duke University Medical Center for ten years, and then moved to Meharry Medical College, Nashville, Tennessee, where he became the Henry A. Moses Associate Professor of Biochemistry for two years.
Dr. Richardson’s current research interest is on chemoattractant and chemokine receptors. He has authored more than 60 research articles, reviews, and book chapters, and been invited to give lectures in many research institutions. As the Director of the JLC-BBRI Cancer Research Program in partnership with the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center and Duke University Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dr. Richardson supervises a team of principal investigators focusing on prostate, breast, oral, esophagus, ovarian and lung cancer, as well as community outreach and student training.
Dr. Richardson earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in biology from the Universitat Autonoma of Barcelona, Spain, and had postdoctoral training in Dr. Marlene Hosey’s laboratory at the Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois.
