Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness Research & Training
The Asian American Network for Cancer Awareness, Research and Training (AANCART) built a national research and training infrastructure to increase participation of Asian Americans in clinical studies; study sociocultural aspects of cancer control across regions and ethnic groups; and improve training opportunities for Asian-American scientists. The project targeted four regions (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and New York) where, cumulatively, nearly 50 percent of all Asian Americans reside.
In collaboration with the American Cancer Society, AANCART has launched a searchable online database of Asian language cancer materials. This tool, the Asian Pacific Islander Cancer Education Materials Web tool (APICEM), is located on the American Cancer Society web site at http://www.cancer.org/apicem.
