Program Director Position Openings
NCI/CRCHD is looking for program directors to manage research grants and other types of awards focused on disparities research, diversity training, and integrated research, training and outreach networks addressing cancer health disparities. Applicants must have research design skills and ability to analyze data. Selectees will play a critical and valuable role in designing programs to reduce cancer health disparities in various racial, ethnic and underserved populations and train a diverse cadre of competitive cancer and cancer health disparities researchers. Familiarity with NIH extramural funding as an applicant, reviewer or NIH scientific administrator is a plus, and outstanding communications skills are a must.
Disparities Research - Candidates should have expertise in epidemiology, randomized trials, statistics, public health and intervention studies related to cancer disparities.
Diversity Training – Candidates must have an educational background or experience in molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, or basic medical science.
Integrated Research, Training and Outreach Networks – Candidates should have expertise in applied research, especially in the areas of community-based communication, outreach, education and behavior. Knowledge of psychosocial issues, such as attitudes, perceptions and culture are preferred.
